How to make a QR code
- Choose what the code points to: a website link, a Wi-Fi network or plain text.
- Enter the link, the Wi-Fi name and password, or your note.
- Style it: pick the dot shape and corner style, set two colours and a background, and add a logo in the middle if you like.
- Scan it with your phone camera to test it, then choose Save as PNG or Save as SVG.
Tips for a code that always scans
- Keep strong contrast: dark dots on a light background scan best.
- Keep logos small. Codes are made with high error correction, so a centred logo still scans, but a very large one may not.
- Use SVG for print. It stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a poster.
- Leave a clear margin round the code when you print it.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The link or text is stored inside the code itself, not on our servers, so it works for as long as the link it points to works.
How does a Wi-Fi QR code work?
It holds the network name, password and security type. Most phones join the network when they scan it, so guests don't need to type the password.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The code and your logo are made in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
